As used in this policy, the terms “using” and “processing”information include using cookies on a computer, subjecting the information to statistical or other analysis and using or handling information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, evaluating, modifying, deleting, using, combining, disclosing and transferring information within our organization or among our affiliates within the United States or internationally.
Collection and Use of Information
In the normal course of business, Pearescope may collect the following types of information:
We may automatically collect certain aggregated data regarding your use of Pearescope, like the number of users and frequency and manner of usage of Pearescope. We may also collect aggregated information regarding the use of our services, such as the extent to which certain features are used. Aggregated information is anonymous statistical information that reflects the scope of our user base, sales, customer patterns and related site information.
Use of Information
We also use your personally-identifiable information to contact you (via such means as SMS, email, etc.) with Pearescope marketing or promotional materials, those alerts or notifications you elect to receive and other information that may be of interest to you (such as, when a friend is nearby). Receiving these and other notifications is at your discretion and determined by you in your account settings. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such communications from us, please update your account settings.
Invitations to Friends
Pearescope users can invite friends to become users by sending invitation emails via our automated invitation system. We do not store the email addresses provided for these purposes.
Non-Identifying and Aggregated Information
We may use non-identifying information about you and aggregate it with information collected from others who use Pearescope to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Service and to analyze and understand how our Site and Service are used. This information is not used in a way that will personally identify you. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance to deliver a product to you according to your preferences or restrictions.
Disclosure of Information
Pearescope will not share your personally-identifiable information with any third parties, with the following exceptions:
While Pearescope offers you the ability to determine how much information you wish to share through the Services though your account settings, any personally-identifying information or other content that you voluntarily disclose online (for example, on your public profile, in posts, comments, or notes) becomes publicly available and could be collected and used by others. Your name is displayed to other users when you post, send direct messages, or comment. In addition, if you chose to connect the Service to your other networks (including, but not limited to Facebook and Twitter), any information you post may be shared with your other networks.
Third Party Applications or Sites
We may share aggregated statistical information and profile information about users of Pearescope with third-parties, including our distributors, vendors, advertisers, actual and potential customers, business partners, and third-parties that offer products or services for use with Pearescope. This information is not linked to any personally-identifiable information.
Pearescope is committed to taking appropriate measures to protect your privacy against unauthorized disclosures. Pearescope uses a variety of secure techniques designed to protect your information.
While we have implemented safeguards, you should be aware that internet and mobile security technology rapidly changes. As such, we cannot guarantee that the safeguards we employ today can protect your personal information from the threats of tomorrow, or that our security measures are failsafe and not subject to circumvention or unauthorized intrusion. You should also be aware that, despite our best efforts, factors beyond our control may result in disclosure of data.
Pearescope provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving certain communications from us regarding products and services in which you may be interested. If you do not opt-out at the time you provide information, but choose to opt-out later, you may do so by updating your account settings. We reserve the right to send you administrative message, service announcements, and other similar communications without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.
You may disable cookies by following directions on your web browser. Disabling cookies also disables web beacons. You should be aware, however, that by disabling cookies you may be unable to access certain services and features of Pearescope.
